Preliminary results of a network of trials related to sugarcane nutrition in Reunion Island [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
IN REUNION ISLAND, sugarcane is grown under highly contrasting climatic conditions, from the sea level to the highlands (up to 1000 m altitude), with very different soil types.

Microsatellite Genetic Markers of Saccharrum spp., and Erianthus sp. on Their Hybrids

open access: yesIlmu Pertanian (Agricultural Science), 2019
Progeny identification is the important step that should be done after hybridization. However, polyploidy, aneuploidy and the high chromosome segregation in sugarcane which results various phenotypic characteristics variation and environmental effects ...

Giant Modal Gain, Amplified Surface Plasmon Polariton Propagation, and Slowing Down of Energy Velocity in a Metal-Semiconductor-Metal Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We investigated surface plasmon polariton (SPP) propagation in a metal-semiconductor-metal structure where semiconductor is highly excited to have optical gain. We show that near the SPP resonance, the imaginary part of the propagation wavevector changes from positive to hugely negative, corresponding to an amplified SPP propagation.

High homologous gene conservation despite extreme autopolyploid redundancy in sugarcane [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Modern sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) has been recognized as one of the world's most efficient crops in solar energy conversion and as havlng the mast favorable input: output ratios. Beside ils importance for sugar production, ilthus became recently aprimary

A Sugarcane Smut Fungus Effector Hijacks Plant Vacuolar Sorting Receptor‐Mediated Trafficking to Evade Host Immune Detection

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The smut fungus Sporisorium scitamineum is a major pathogen in sugarcane, causing significant agricultural losses worldwide. However, the molecular mechanisms by which its effectors facilitate infection and evade host immunity remain largely unclear.

The Sugarcane genome sequencing effort: An overview of the strategy, goals and existing data : [Abstract W538] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Sugarcane is a major feedstock used for biofuel production worldwide. Sugarcane cultivars (Saccharum spp) are derived from interspecific hybridization obtained a century ago by crossing Saccharum officinarum (2n=8x=80) and S.

A Systematic Review of Alternative Host Species of Phytophthora erythroseptica, the Major Causal Agent of Pink Rot of Potato

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 74, Issue 3, Page 605-640, April 2025.
The literature cites many alternative hosts of Phytophthora erythroseptica. However, evidence of host status is often insufficient, thus a polyphasic approach (morphological, molecular, histological and pathogenicity) is required. ABSTRACT Most published studies of Phytophthora erythroseptica, the major causal agent of pink rot of potato, have focused ...

Preliminary analysis of microsatellite markers derived from sugarcane expressed sequence tags (ESTs)

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2001
Expressed sequence tags (ESTs) in the sugarcane (Saccharum spp) database (SUCEST) were electronically searched and 402 microsatellites identified. Various dinucleotide and trinucleotide simple sequence repeat (SSR) motifs were found, with these being ...
