Abstract A case of sacculation of the uterus has been described. Actual photographs of a uterus with a sacculation has been presented. An attempt has been made to differentiate the terms "sacculation" and "diverticulum" as they apply to the pregnant uterus. It is our thesis that sacculations are due to functional malformations of the uterus.

The electrophysiology of the saccule
Pflgers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1972The Na+ concentration in saccular endolymph in guinea pigs was measured and found to be 3.2±0.6 mEqu/l with sodium specific electrodes. The saccular potential varied between −8 and +2.4 mV. Permanent anoxia resulting in the death of the animal caused the potential to fall by 15 mV and the Na+ concentration to rise to 40 mEqu/l in 30 min. Maintenance of

Unilateral examination of utricle and saccule function
Journal of Vestibular Research-Equilibrium & Orientation, 2003Attention is directed towards the recently developed unilateral tests of saccular and utricular function. Together with the now widely used head-thrust test and the standard caloric test for semicircular canal function, these provide for a more ...

Anterior sacculation of pregnant uterus at term
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1967Abstract The subject of the anterior sacculation of the pregnant uterus at term with the entrapment of a presenting part in the sac has stirred the interest of obstetricians for centuries not only because of its unusual anatomy but also because of no possibility of a spontaneous evolution with a favorable outcome.

T. O., aged 44, complained of knifelike pain in the left upper quadrant, which occurred an hour or two after meals. The condition had lasted four months.
