Preservation and remodelling of chloroplast lipids in photosynthetic sea slug host cells

The capacity to retain long-term functional algal chloroplasts within animal cells is a singular trait of certain Sacoglossa sea slugs. The sequestered chloroplasts (kleptoplasts) confer photosynthetic capacity to the host.
