Perturbation Methods for Saddle Point Computation [PDF]
A general class of iterative methods for saddle point seeking is developed. The directions used are subgradients evaluated at perturbed points. Convergence of the methods is proved and alternative strategies for implementation are discussed.

Constraint preconditioners for solving singular saddle point problems [PDF]
We study constraint preconditioners for solving singular saddle point problems. We analyze properties of the preconditioned matrices, in particular their eigenvalue distributions, and prove that for solving singular saddle point problems by ...

Research on Diaphragm Pump Fault Diagnosis Method Based on Res‐DCB‐Net
ABSTRACT Nonstationary pressure pulsation signals of diaphragm pumps contain strong background noise and coupled characteristics. This makes it challenging to extract incipient fault features and to decouple faults with similar physical mechanisms. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a spatiotemporal fault diagnosis model named Res‐DCB ...

Evaluation of ST preconditioners for saddle point problems [PDF]
The general block ST decomposition of the saddle point problem is used as a preconditioner to transform the saddle point problem into an equivalent symmetric and positive definite system. Such a decomposition is called a block ST preconditioner.

A physics‐grounded framework based on decoherence timescales (τ_dec vs τ_func), Markovian validity, and falsifiability criteria is applied across molecular systems to distinguish where quantum effects are necessary, marginal, or irrelevant. The analysis integrates quantum chemistry, biological quantum mechanisms, and quantum computing under a unified ...

Valley polarization of graphene via the saddle point
Graphene, and other members of the monolayer Xene family, represent an ideal materials platform for “valleytronics”, the control of valley localized charge excitations.

Abstract The upper carbonate concretion levels of the Romualdo Formation (Aptian, Brazil) have yielded several theropod dinosaur remains, including spinosaurids and the coelurosaurs Santanaraptor placidus and Mirischia asymmetrica, the phylogenetic affinities of which are controversial.

Time-scale separation at saddle point (A) and saddle node bifurcation (B-C). [PDF]
(A) A time-scale separation between the stable and unstable manifolds of the saddle point enhances its temporary attractivity. Trajectories (grey curves) converge to the unstable manifold (red dashed line) in the fast time-scale before sliding to a ...

Abstract The Late Triassic–Early Jurassic fissures of the Bristol Channel area (southwest England and south Wales) are renowned for their diverse vertebrate faunas. These assemblages have yielded an array of predominantly small‐bodied forms that are crucial to our understanding of the early evolution of several major tetrapod clades.

Preconditioning of Saddle Point Systems [PDF]
The solution of the original system, the use of the null space transformation and the use of the range space transformation are considered. Computational experiments are given.
