Characterization of the mixed‐mode interlaminar fracture toughness of an additive manufacturing continuous carbon fiber reinforced‐thermoplastic composite

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Manufacturing, testing and analysis of the mixed‐mode interlaminar fracture toughness of a 3D‐printed cCFRTP. Abstract There is a lack of knowledge concerning the interlaminar fracture toughness under mixed‐mode ratios of 3D‐printed composites. In this work, several additive manufacturing (AM) continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (cFRT) specimens ...

Structure and Migration Mechanisms of Oxygen Interstitial Defects in β‐Ga2O3

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), EarlyView.
The structures and diffusion mechanisms of interstitial oxygen in different charge states in β‐Ga2O3 are extensively studied using density functional theory. The results provide a detailed map of the potential energy surface for oxygen interstitials in β‐Ga2O3 and demonstrate how these ions migrate between different rings in the structure.

Anticlastic Curvature and Material Freedom

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), EarlyView.
Anticlastic curvature occurs in bent bars for positive Poisson's ratio; synclastic curvature occurs for negative Poisson's ratio provided the material is homogeneous and elastic. Some planar negative Poisson's ratio materials exhibit anticlastic saddle curvature rather than convex curvature in bending due to effects of 3D structure.

Temporal and spatial dynamics of a local wind in Japan, “Kiyokawa‐dashi”: Insights from high‐density observations and numerical simulations

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
We studied a renowned local wind in Japan, “Kiyokawa‐dashi,” with a numerical model and high‐density observations at approximately 1‐km intervals. “Kiyokawa‐dashi” typically begins with intense winds descending onto a confined area leeward of a gorge at the initiation stage and expands over the entire plain at the mature stage.
