A new generalized shift-splitting method for nonsymmetric saddle point problems
Recently, Huang and Huang [ Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics , 328 (2018) 381–399] proposed a modified generalized shift-splitting preconditioned (denoted by MGSSP) method for solving large sparse saddle point problems, and gave the ...

Active Learning for Saddle Point Calculation
The saddle point (SP) calculation is a grand challenge for computationally intensive energy function in computational chemistry area, where the saddle point may represent the transition state (TS). The traditional methods need to evaluate the gradients of the energy function at a very large number of locations.

Numerical Resolution of Fluid Dynamic Problems Using a Saddle Point Variational Formulation
Variational methods are useful for finding numerical solutions of differential equations, which are the corresponding Euler-Lagrange equations to the stationary condition of the functional. Usually the functional is a maximum or a minimum with respect to

Saddle Pressures Factors in Road and Off-Road Cyclists of Both Genders: A Narrative Review
The contact point of the pelvis with the saddle of the bicycle could generate abnormal pressure, which could lead to injuries to the perineum in cyclists.

A new variational approach for a boundary value problem in mathematical physics is proposed. By considering two-field Lagrange multipliers, we deliver a variational formulation consisting of a mixed variational problem which is equivalent with a saddle ...

Numerical saddle point method [PDF]
An asymptotic expansion of integrals containing an exponential integrand with a large parameter can be obtained by the well-known saddle point method. For integrands further containing Hankel functions a numerical double saddle point method is described ...

On the eigenvalues of a class of saddle point matrices [PDF]
Some results on eigenvalues of block matrices of the form \[ M=\left[\begin{matrix} A&B^T\cr-B&C\end{matrix}\right] \] with symmetric positive semidefinite diagonal blocks are proved. It is shown when \(M\) is positive real and when it is diagonalizable. The effect of stabilization by adding a multiple of the unit matrix is investigated.
