Influence of Organic Matter in Sorption of the Saflufenacil in Ferralsols

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2020
The saflufenacil herbicide has been applied in the agricultural areas as an efficient alternative for the control of resistant weeds to glyphosate. However, the environmental risks from the use of saflufenacil, especially in tropical soil, is not yet clearly known.

Glyphosate-Resistant Horseweed (Conyza canadensis) Dose Response to Saflufenacil, Saflufenacil plus Glyphosate, and Metribuzin plus Saflufenacil plus Glyphosate in Soybean

Weed Science, 2016
The control of glyphosate-resistant (GR) horseweed (Conyza canadensis) in soybean has been variable with glyphosate plus saflufenacil. The objective of this research was to determine the biologically effective rate (BER) of saflufenacil, saflufenacil mixed with glyphosate, and metribuzin mixed with saflufenacil and glyphosate applied preplant (PP) for ...

Soil Properties Influence Saflufenacil Phytotoxicity

Weed Science, 2014
Saflufenacil, a pyrimidinedione herbicide, is used for contact and residual broadleaf weed control in various crops. Bioactivity of saflufenacil in soil was tested in greenhouse and laboratory studies on 29 soils representing a wide range of soil properties and geographic areas across the United States.

New and convergent synthesis of saflufenacil

Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 2019
AbstractA new, practical, and hundred‐gram scale synthesis of saflufenacil, a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor herbicide, is described. The key intermediate N‐methyl‐N‐isopropyl sulfamide (12) is obtained from sulfuryl chloride isocyanate, t‐butanol, and N‐methyl‐N‐isopropylamine in 74.8% yield over 3 steps.

Potential of Egeria densa and Pistia stratiotes for the phytoremediation of water contaminated with saflufenacil

Journal of Environmental Science and Health. Part B - Pesticides, Food Contaminants, and Agricultural Wastes, 2021
Saflufenacil is an herbicide that is leachable in soil and has the potential to contaminate groundwater, besides having moderate toxicity to aquatic organisms. Some macrophyte species may interfere with the availability of herbicides in water, increasing

Grain sorghum response to saflufenacil applied preemergence

Crop Protection, 2013
Field studies were conducted in 2008 and 2009 at three locations on the Texas Southern High Plains to evaluate grain sorghum response to saflufenacil alone or in combination with dimethenamid. Hybrids ‘Pioneer 85G01’ and ‘Dekalb 44-20’ were planted and saflufenacil at 0.5–0.70 kg ai ha−1 or saflufenacil + dimethenamid at 0.05 + 0.44 to 0.2 + 1.75 kg ai
