Influence of Organic Matter in Sorption of the Saflufenacil in Ferralsols
Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2020The saflufenacil herbicide has been applied in the agricultural areas as an efficient alternative for the control of resistant weeds to glyphosate. However, the environmental risks from the use of saflufenacil, especially in tropical soil, is not yet clearly known.

The control of glyphosate-resistant (GR) horseweed (Conyza canadensis) in soybean has been variable with glyphosate plus saflufenacil. The objective of this research was to determine the biologically effective rate (BER) of saflufenacil, saflufenacil mixed with glyphosate, and metribuzin mixed with saflufenacil and glyphosate applied preplant (PP) for ...

Soil Properties Influence Saflufenacil Phytotoxicity
Weed Science, 2014Saflufenacil, a pyrimidinedione herbicide, is used for contact and residual broadleaf weed control in various crops. Bioactivity of saflufenacil in soil was tested in greenhouse and laboratory studies on 29 soils representing a wide range of soil properties and geographic areas across the United States.

New and convergent synthesis of saflufenacil
Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 2019AbstractA new, practical, and hundred‐gram scale synthesis of saflufenacil, a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor herbicide, is described. The key intermediate N‐methyl‐N‐isopropyl sulfamide (12) is obtained from sulfuryl chloride isocyanate, t‐butanol, and N‐methyl‐N‐isopropylamine in 74.8% yield over 3 steps.

Grain sorghum response to saflufenacil applied preemergence
Crop Protection, 2013Field studies were conducted in 2008 and 2009 at three locations on the Texas Southern High Plains to evaluate grain sorghum response to saflufenacil alone or in combination with dimethenamid. Hybrids ‘Pioneer 85G01’ and ‘Dekalb 44-20’ were planted and saflufenacil at 0.5–0.70 kg ai ha−1 or saflufenacil + dimethenamid at 0.05 + 0.44 to 0.2 + 1.75 kg ai
