Joint function in marmosets and tamarins: Insights from computational modeling of hip extensor muscles. [PDF]
This pilot study uses computational modeling to analyze five hip extensor muscles in four Callitrichidae species, aiming to identify adaptations to different leaping behaviors. Muscle topology was reconstructed from microCT scans to model instantaneous muscle moment arms and muscle strains during hip extension.

Orbital asymmetries in tamarins of the genus Saguinus (Primates, Callitrichidae) [PDF]
The aim of this study was to analyse the orbital asymmetry in Saguinus skulls. The examination was conducted on 13 dry well-preserved skulls, belonging to different species of the genus Saguinus. The sample was studied by means of geometric morphological

Phylogenetic inferences of Atelinae (Platyrrhini) based on multi-directional chromosome painting in Brachyteles arachnoides, Ateles paniscus paniscus and Ateles b. marginatus [PDF]
We performed multi-directional chromosome painting in a comparative cytogenetic study of the three Atelinae species Brachyteles arachnoides, Ateles paniscus paniscus and Ateles belzebuth marginatus, in order to reconstruct phylogenetic relationships ...

Functions of Intermittent Locomotion in Mustached Tamarins (Saguinus mystax) [PDF]
Many animals interrupt their moving with brief pauses, which appear to serve several different functions. We examined the function of such intermittent locomotion in wild living mustached tamarins (Saguinus mystax), small arboreal New World primates that

DNA fingerprinting validates seed dispersal curves from observational studies in the neotropical legume parkia. [PDF]
Determining the distances over which seeds are dispersed is a crucial component for examining spatial patterns of seed dispersal and their consequences for plant reproductive success and population structure.

Hyperostotic tympanic bone spicules in domestic and wild animal species [PDF]
Hyperostotic tympanic bone spicules (HTBS), or "mucoperiosteal exostoses" (ME, syn.) are small, globular (>= 1 mm in diameter), mostly stalked and drumstick-like, bony structures, which arise from the inner wall of the tympanic bulla and project into the
