Influence Mechanisms of Spatial Optimization of the “Terraced Fields‐Gully Land Reclamation Project (GLRP)” Cascades on Erosion‐Transportation Processes in Watershed in the Loess Hilly‐Gully Region of China

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Terraced fields and the Gully Land Reclamation Project (GLRP) are important soil and water conservation measures, widely constructed in China's Loess Plateau and other ecologically fragile areas in the world. However, under large‐scale governance scenarios, the impacts of the “terraced fields‐GLRP” cascade system on water and sediment ...

Spatial Decay Estimates for Elastic Plate System With Type II Heat Conduction

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
The classical Saint-Venant principle has been extensively studied for harmonic and biharmonic models but remains largely unexplored for thermomechanical plates governed by hyperbolic (Type II) heat conduction, a conservative thermal model with unique ...

River Ice Processes Modelling: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT River ice strongly influences hydrology, hydrodynamics, and ecosystems in cold regions, with an impact on flooding, hydropower generation, navigation, and aquatic habitats. Modeling river ice processes is therefore essential for both scientific understanding and operational management.

Analysis of flood events in the Three Gorges Reservoir Region using the coupled VIC‐CaMaFlood hydrological model

open access: yesRiver, EarlyView.
Abstract In recent years, the Three Gorges Reservoir Region (TGRR) has been increasingly affected by climate change, with frequent flood events posing challenges to regional flood control. The NO.1 flood of the Daning River in 2024 further highlights the severity of flood risks in the region.

Coupling Green-Ampt and Saint-Venant Equations for Estimating of Transmission Losses during Flood Routing in Rivers [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و مهندسی آبیاری, 2016
Volume of flooding flow volume in ephemeral streams decreases due to evaporation as well as the channel wall and bed penetration. This process is known as transmission losses.

Cache‐Cache: Dans les souffles du Grand Fleuve…

open access: yesAnthropology of Consciousness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Between ventriloquism and divination, devotion and consecration, an old and sublime marine game unfolds each day, with living breaths shared in the waters of the great river. In Tadoussac, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence Estuary, at the mouth of the Saguenay, the rumor of whales has long resonated.

Estimation of the Torsional Rigidity of Orthotropic Solid Cross Section

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2021
In this paper, two inequality relations are proven for the torsional rigidity of orthotropic elastic solid cross sections. By using the derived inequality relations, lower and upper bounds can be obtained for the torsional rigidity.

Affinification: A Fine Approximation of Deformations

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We introduce affinification, a novel method for accelerating physics‐based animation of elastic solids. During a time‐dependent simulation, our method automatically partitions the space into affine and elastic regions depending on the deformation.

Closing Trajectories: Equation‐Free Cyclic Animation via Koopman Surrogates

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Cyclic animation is widely used in computer graphics and interactive content. It supports seamless playback in games, VR, and interactive simulation, where short clips must repeat smoothly over long durations. Converting an observed non‐cyclic trajectory into a seamless loop is challenging because the endpoint states of the observed sequence ...

Symplectic Analytical Solutions for the Magnetoelectroelastic Solids Plane Problem in Rectangular Domain

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2011
The transversely isotropic magnetoelectroelastic solids plane problem in rectangular domain is derived to Hamiltonian system. In symplectic geometry space with the origin variables—displacements, electric potential, and magnetic potential, as well as ...
