Salbutamol for transient tachypnea of the newborn

Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2015
Transient tachypnea of the newborn is characterized by tachypnea and signs of respiratory distress. Transient tachypnea typically appears within the first two hours of life in term and late preterm newborns. Although transient tachypnea of the newborn is usually a self limited condition, it is associated with wheezing syndromes in late childhood.

Hypokalemia and salbutamol therapy in asthma

Pediatric Pulmonology, 1999
Hypokalemia is a common side effect in adult asthmatic patients on beta 2 adrenergic therapy. There is limited information in regard to hypokalemia and its relation to the clinical responses following administration of beta 2 agonist therapy in children with asthma.

Solubility of salbutamol and salbutamol sulphate in ethanol+water mixtures at 25°C

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2012
Experimental solubilities of salbutamol and salbutamol sulphate in ethanol + water mixtures at 25 °C are reported. The solubility of salbutamol was found to increase with the addition of ethanol, and reached a maximum value at an ethanol volume fraction of 0.8.

Postponement of Preterm Birth with Salbutamol

International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 1979
ABSTRACTSalbutamol was administered intravenously and orally to 58 patients who were admitted to the hospital because of premature labor. Pregnancy was postponed until at least 36 weeks' gestation in 34 of these patients. The success of this therapy was measured by a parameter of the prolongation index which was inversely related to the Bishop's score.

Dependency upon Salbutamol Inhalers

British Journal of Psychiatry, 1979
SummaryA case of dependency on salbutamol inhalers has been described. This has been discussed in relation to abuse of other drugs by alveolar absorption and other effects of salbutamol. It is not known whether the dependency is due to the salbutamol itself or to the fluorinated hydrocarbons used as propellants.

Synthesis of a salbutamol dimer

Tetrahedron Letters, 2002
Abstract First synthesis of the diastereomeric mixture of Salbutamol dimer ( 2 ) is described. The synthesis provides access to multi-gram quantities of 2 for reference supplies and further analytical and toxicology investigations. It also confirmed the proposed structure by comparison to authentic sample.
