Salicylic Acid Biosynthesis and Metabolism: A Divergent Pathway for Plants and Bacteria
Salicylic acid (SA) is an active secondary metabolite that occurs in bacteria, fungi, and plants. SA and its derivatives (collectively called salicylates) are synthesized from chorismate (derived from shikimate pathway).

Salicylate Intake in Pregnant and Non-Pregnant Women
Salicylates are naturally present in plants. In medicine, acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) is widely used as an analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory agent and also as a preventive medicine for preeclampsia in pregnancy.

Anti-inflammatory effect of antiplasmin agents,ε -aminocaproic acid and trans-4-aminomethyl-cyclohexane carboxylic acid, in rats [PDF]
1. Both EACA and AMCHA clearly showed an anti-inflammatory effect, by intravenous, intramuscular, or oral route, against inflammatory edema produced in rats by intracutaneous injection of rabbit's anti-rat serum, carrageenin, histamine, serotonin, or ...

Solution properties of iron(III) complexes with 5-fluorosalicylic acid- spectra, speciation, and redox stability [PDF]
Iron(III)-5-fluorosalicylic acid systems were investigated in water by pH potentiometry combined with UV-VIS spectrophotometry. The data revealed that stable aquated mono-, bis-, and tris(5-fluorosalicylato) iron(III) complexes are formed together with ...

xx xx. ABSTRACT Stimuli‐responsive nanomaterials capable of spatiotemporal control over drug release are of nanocomposite patch (“e‐Medi‐Patch”) engineered from biodegradable polycaprolactone (PCL), graphene nanoplatelets, and a redox‐active therapeutic, niclosamide. The hierarchical composite integrates π‐π interactions between aromatic drug molecules

Two patients developed acute hepatic injury as a result of salicylate therapy. In each patient serum salicylate levels were below 25 mg per 100 ml during the development of hepatic dysfunction. Liver biopsies, obtained a few days after the peak abnormalities in serum transaminases, revealed nonspecific acute hepatitis.

A phosphorescent dye was designed to fit in a hand‐to‐glove fashion into the 1D‐pore channels of MIL‐68(In). We synthesized MIL‐68(In) as powder and thin films, loaded the dye into the pores with controlled packing, and found that the phosphorescence and quantum yield are enhanced.
