Epichloë endophyte interacts with saline-alkali stress to alter root phosphorus-solubilizing fungal and bacterial communities in tall fescue

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
Epichloë endophytes, present in aboveground tissues, modify belowground microbial community. This study was conducted to investigate endophyte (Epichloë coenophialum) associated with tall fescue (Lolium arundinaceum) interacted with an altered saline ...

Exploration of the Regulatory Pathways and Key Genes Involved in the Response to Saline–Alkali Stress in Betula platyphylla via RNA-Seq Analysis

open access: yesPlants, 2023
The pH of saline–alkali soil is high because of carbonate salts, and the deleterious effects of saline–alkali soil on the growth of plants are greater than those of saline soil.

Genes related to osmoregulation and antioxidation play important roles in the response of Trollius chinensis seedlings to saline-alkali stress

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Saline-alkali stress is one of the main abiotic stress factors affecting plant growth and development. Trollius chinensis is a perennial herbal medicinal plant with high values for garden application.

Physiological and transcriptomic analyses of yellow horn (Xanthoceras sorbifolia) provide important insights into salt and saline-alkali stress tolerance.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Yellow horn (Xanthoceras sorbifolia) is an oil-rich woody plant cultivated for bio-energy production in China. Soil saline-alkalization is a prominent agricultural-related environmental problem limiting plant growth and productivity.

Physiological and Biochemical Mechanisms of Exogenous Melatonin Regulation of Saline–Alkali Tolerance in Oats

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Saline–alkali stress is one of the major factors limiting oat seed germination. The regulatory role of melatonin (MT) as a naturally occurring active substance is well known, but the mechanism of MT-mediated intrinsic physiological regulation of oat seed

Na2CO3-responsive Photosynthetic and ROS Scavenging Mechanisms in Chloroplasts of Alkaligrass Revealed by Phosphoproteomics

open access: yesGenomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics, 2020
Alkali-salinity exerts severe osmotic, ionic, and high-pH stresses to plants. To understand the alkali-salinity responsive mechanisms underlying photosynthetic modulation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) homeostasis, physiological and diverse ...

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Mineral Deposition From Liquid Precursors Triggered by Complementary Polyelectrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polyelectrolyte additives can delay or prevent crystal nucleation in supersaturated solutions of insoluble mineral salts such as calcium carbonate. This work reports that adding a second, oppositely‐charged polyelectrolyte leads to immediate mineral crystallization from such metastable solutions.
