Increasing annual soil salinization poses a major threat to global ecological security. Soil microorganisms play an important role in improving plant adaptability to stress tolerance, however, the mechanism of saline-alkali tolerance to plants associated with rhizosphere microbiome is unclear.

TaWRKY55-TaPLATZ2 module negatively regulate saline-alkali stress tolerance in wheat.
Journal of Integrative Plant BiologySaline-alkaline soils are a major environmental problem that limit plant growth and crop productivity. Plasma membrane H+-ATPases and the salt overly sensitive (SOS) signaling pathway play important roles in plant responses to saline-alkali stress ...

Halomonas binhaiensis sp. nov., isolated from saline-alkali soil
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2022A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic and rod-shaped bacterium, strain Y2R2T, was isolated from a saline–alkali soil sample collected from Binhai New Area, Tianjin, PR China. Growth of strain Y2R2T was observed at 10–45 °C (optimum, 30 °C), at pH 6.0–11.0 (optimum, pH 9.0) and in the presence of 0–15 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 9.0 %).

Nitratireductor luteus sp. nov. isolated from saline-alkali land
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 2022The Gram-staining negative, oxidase and catalase negative strain KC-ST17T, isolated from saline-alkali land, was characterized using a polyphasic approach to determine its taxonomic position. Using 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, the highest similarity of strain KC-ST17T was found with Nitratireductor pacificus CCTCC AB 209302T (97.2%).

Diagnostics, methods of evaluation, and geography of saline-alkali (soda) soils are discussed. The saline-alkali soils include soils of different genetic types with the following chemical properties: the pH of the water suspensions equal to or higher than 8.5; the total alkalinity exceeding 1.4 meq/100 g of soil and the sum of water-soluble calcium and

Pseudoxanthomonas wuyuanensis sp. nov., isolated from saline-alkali soil
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2014A bacterium, designated XC21-2T, was isolated from a saline-alkaline soil sample from China. Cells were Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped and motile and grew optimally at 35–37 °C, pH 6.0–7.0 and in the presence of 0.5 % (w/v) NaCl. Growth occurred in the range pH 5.5–9.0 and in the presence of up to 4 % (w/v) NaCl.
