Characteristics of CO2 sequestration in saline aquifers [PDF]
Storage of CO2 in saline aquifers is a viable option for reducing the amount of CO2 released to the atmosphere. This paper provides an overall review of CO2 sequestration in saline aquifers. First, the principles of CO2 sequestration are presented, including CO2 phase behavior, CO2-water-rock interaction, and CO2 trapping mechanisms.

Groundwater Rise Sustains the World's Largest Alpine Water System Under Global Warming
Shallow groundwater depth (SGWD) across the non‐permafrost plains of the Qinghai–Xizang Plateau decreased at averagely 0.02 m year−1, adding 31.44 Gt of freshwater storage from 2000 to 2020 and sustaining ∼53 500 km2 of alpine ecosystems. A vadose‐zone capacity of 426.6 Gt reveals these aquifers as promising reservoirs, highlighting groundwater's ...

Biodiversity Strategies in Action—Empirical Evidence From the Food Value Chain
ABSTRACT There is an increasing need for better understanding of firm activities that contribute to biodiversity preservation. Panwar, Ober, and Pinkse offer a valuable typology of corporate biodiversity protection strategies based on temporal and spatial dimensions, namely, the preloss (proactive) strategies of conservation and compensation, and the ...
