Instability of the salinity profile during the evaporation of saline groundwater [PDF]
We investigate salt transport during the evaporation and upflow of saline groundwater. We describe a model in which a sharp evaporation-precipitation front separates regions of soil saturated with an air-vapour mixture and with saline water.

Investigation of pressure retarded osmosis power production
A major source of energy exists where there is mixing between aqueous solutions of different salinities. This energy source is particularly concentrated where fresh water rivers flow on to the ocean.

Ionic thermal up-diffusion in nanofluidic salinity-gradient energy harvesting [PDF]
Abstract Advances in nanofabrication and materials science give a boost to the research in nanofluidic energy harvesting. Contrary to previous efforts on isothermal conditions, here a study on asymmetric temperature dependence in nanofluidic power generation is conducted. Results are somewhat counterintuitive.

Ultra-Thin Ion Exchange Membranes by Low Ionomer Blending for Energy Harvesting
Exploring the utilization of ion exchange membranes (IEMs) in salinity gradient energy harvesting, a technique that capitalizes on the salinity difference between seawater and freshwater to generate electricity, this study focuses on optimizing PVDF to ...

Sublethal salinity stress contributes to habitat limitation in an endangered estuarine fish. [PDF]
As global change alters multiple environmental conditions, predicting species' responses can be challenging without understanding how each environmental factor influences organismal performance.
