The photoprotective role of spermidine in tomato seedlings under salinity-alkalinity stress. [PDF]
Polyamines are small, ubiquitous, nitrogenous compounds that scavenge reactive oxygen species and stabilize the structure and function of the photosynthetic apparatus in response to abiotic stresses.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Use of EcoTILLING to Find Genes Related to Salt Tolerance in Rice. W622 [PDF]
Salinity is considered one of important physical factors influencing rice (Oryza sativa L.) production. Roots are the first parts of the plant to experience any soil-based salt stress and it is at the roots that the entry of Na+ and Cl?

Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Differential Gene Expression in Liver, Gill, and Olfactory Rosettes of Coho Salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) After Acclimation to Salinity. [PDF]
Most Pacific salmonids undergo smoltification and transition from freshwater to saltwater, making various adjustments in metabolism, catabolism, osmotic, and ion regulation. The molecular mechanisms underlying this transition are largely unknown.

CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

In vitro screening of four genotypes of citrus for salt tolerance : S08P07 [PDF]
Soil and water salinity is an important abiotic stress that can affect both production and quality of citrus. The use of tolerant rootstocks in these conditions would be the solution the most used.
