Marine ecosystems are the most important sinks for microplastics (MPs) from inland sources, and the input of large quantities of MPs into the oceans poses a serious threat to marine organisms and ecosystems.

Progress of Euhalophyte Adaptation to Arid Areas to Remediate Salinized Soil
With the increasing shortage of water resources, the current management of saline–alkali lands in semi-arid and arid areas has gradually transformed from “flooding irrigation with drainage” in the past to the combination of controlling regional water and

Sea-level rise driven soil salinization
Sea level rise (SLR) is a well-documented aspect of anthropogenic climate change which is primary due to the thermal expansion of seawater and melting of ice caps and glaciers (1).

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Soil Salinity, a Serious Environmental Issue and Plant Responses: A Metabolomics Perspective
The effects of global warming have increasingly led to devastating environmental stresses, such as heat, salinity, and drought. Soil salinization is a serious environmental issue and results in detrimental abiotic stress, affecting 7% of land area and 33%

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Recent Salinization of Ancient Egyptian Temples
Although an extensive type of salinization of ancient Egyptian temples has been recognized as early as 1977, and although the general mechanism of salinization has been proposed and verified by computer modelling in 1980 at least for the Karnak area near

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Salinization of Alpine rivers during winter months
International audienceHuman-induced (i.e., secondary) salinization affects aquatic biodiversity and ecosystem functioning worldwide. While agriculture or resource extraction are the main drivers of secondary salinization in arid and semi-arid regions of ...
