Clinicogenomic Features and Outcomes of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma With Central Nervous System Metastases: A Single‐Institution Cohort Study

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy with a propensity for perineural invasion and hematogenous spread. Central nervous system (CNS) involvement is uncommon, and detailed clinical and genomic data on this aspect of the disease remain limited.

Effectiveness of Organized Strategies to Enhance Access to Preventive Oral Cancer Screening Among High‐Risk Individuals in Brazil: A Randomized Clinical Trial in Primary Care

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
This randomized clinical trial evaluated the performance of organized risk‐based strategies to expand access to cancer preventive oral examination among vulnerable populations within the public health system of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Compared with an opportunistic approach, the organized invitation‐based oral cancer screening approaches systematically

Maternal overweight and obesity during pregnancy and sex‐dependent dysregulation of the materno‐fetal stress axis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Maternal obesity and excess gestational weight gain (GWG) are linked to adverse perinatal outcomes, potentially via disruption of the maternal–fetal stress axis. Placental HSD11B2 protects the fetus from excess glucocorticoids and may influence fetal programming during maternal metabolic stress.

Cutaneous Fistula Associated with Salivary Calculi in the Parotid Gland: Report of a Rare Case

open access: yes, 2019

Gene expression signatures from single‐cell transcriptomics predict Sjögren's syndrome

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐based 12‐gene signature (SjS.Sig) was developed from scRNA‐seq data of PBMCs from Sjögren's syndrome patients. The model was validated using bulk RNA‐seq datasets and further confirmed through flow cytometry and qPCR analysis in an independent clinical cohort, demonstrating robust diagnostic potential.

Long‐Term Outcomes and Predictors of Delayed Steroid Initiation in Type 1 Autoimmune Pancreatitis Initially Managed Without Corticosteroids

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Purpose Although type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) responds well to corticosteroids, spontaneous remission can also occur. This study evaluated long‐term outcomes and predictors of delayed steroid initiation in AIP patients initially managed conservatively.

Mapping the Landscape of Over‐Scanning in CT Imaging: A Scoping Review

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
Over‐scanning in CT is highly prevalent and contributes to unnecessary radiation exposure, with notable impact on radiosensitive organs. Standardised protocols and AI‐assisted planning show strong potential to optimise scan range and reduce excess dose.

Consuming heat‐inactivated Lactiplantibacillus pentosus ONRICb0240‐containing postbiotics reduces gingival inflammation: A double‐blind randomized clinical trial

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Periodontal disease affects people globally, requiring approaches to halt progression at the gingivitis stage. Researchers have investigated live probiotics; we studied the effect of a heat‐inactivated preparation (postbiotic) of Lactiplantibacillus pentosus ONRICb0240 on gingival inflammation.
