Tracking of [14C]Polystyrene Nanoplastics in Pregnant Mice
This study investigates [14C]polystyrene nanoplastic ([14C]PS) translocation in late‐stage pregnant mice after intranasal (0.5 mg of [14C]PS on GD12, GD14, and GD16, n = 6) and intravenous administration (1.5 mg of [14C]PS on GD16, n = 6). 14C‐radiolabel allows quantitative tracking of unmodified polystyrene nanoplastics.

Salivary antimicrobial protein response to prolonged running.
Prolonged exercise may compromise immunity through a reduction of salivary antimicrobial proteins (AMPs). Salivary IgA (IgA) has been extensively studied, but little is known about the effect of acute, prolonged exercise on AMPs including lysozyme (Lys) and lactoferrin (Lac). To determine the effect of a 50-km trail race on salivary cortisol (Cort), IgA,

Optimization of SWCNT‐FET Biosensors by Aptamer Engineering and Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement
Aptamer‐based single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) field‐effect transistor (FET) biosensors are developed for label‐free, real‐time biomarker detection. Truncated DNA aptamers enhance sensitivity through improved conformational switching. A toehold‐mediated strand displacement (TMSD) strategy optimizes functionalization and simplifies fabrication. The

A temporally controlled drug release coating is developed for abutments using a superhydrophobic coating self‐assembled on mesoporous silica. This surface provides sequential functionality: initial contamination resistance through non‐wetting, followed by controlled drug release via wettability transition.

The integration of ROS‐generating systems with H2S depletion strategies effectively overcomes the limitations imposed by endogenous antioxidant defenses on ROS‐based antimicrobial therapies. In this study, the Cu‐MOF is incorporated into pillararene‐embedded COF, achieving a “three‐in‐one” antimicrobial effect that markedly alleviated periodontal ...

Antigeni salivari quali strumenti epidemiologici per la valutazione dell'esposizione umana ad Aedes albopictus [PDF]
Hematophagous arthropods during feeding inject into their hosts a cocktail of salivary proteins whose main role is to allow for an effective blood meal by counteracting host hemostasis, inflammation and immunity.
