Contaminant‐Driven Modulation of Environmental DNA and RNA in Aquatic Systems
This study investigates how lead (Pb) and polyethylene (PE) microbreads influence eDNA and eRNA signals in salmon and eels. While Pb exposure does not interfere with eNA signals, PE microbeads increase eRNA production and slow molecular degradation, prolonging the detection window of eNA in aquatic ecosystems.

Through progressive flume experiments, this study demonstrated that increased bed shear stresses corresponded with increased cohesive fine sediment (<62‐μm) remobilisation depths from a representative chalk stream gravel bed. This represents some of the first scientifically robust data, which can direct revised and targeted fine sediment management in ...

Understanding groundwater discharge to surface water is crucial for ecosystems, water quality, and resource management. A flexible methodology was developed to first predict and then identify cold‐water zones and significant groundwater discharge areas in four key Lake Ontario tributaries.

Meeting Livestock Protein and Amino Acids Needs With Edible Insects: A Critical Review
Comparison of the use of traditional protein sources (soybean meal and fish meal) and insects meal in monogastrics and aquaculture (created in BioRender. Luttenschlager, H. (2025) https://BioRender.com/ndztqxp) ABSTRACT The increasing demand for animal‐based protein has led to biodiversity loss, deforestation, pollution, and extensive land use, mainly ...

The genetic architecture of phenotypic correlations offers insights into how natural selection operates in the wild. Two functional phenotypes in Atlantic salmon, early life exploration and age‐at‐maturity, are correlated at an adaptive genomic hotspot, but through distinct genetic markers (SNPs), ruling out causality.
