Sustainability of the Alaska Salmon Fishery
Invited Lectures Status of the Alaska salmon fishery. In 2009 Alaska continued over three decades of sustained harvest above 100M salmon; the harvest this year was above 150M including over 40M sockeye, 90M pink, and 16M chum salmon (preliminary State of Alaska data). It was near the median of harvests for the past decade.

Phosphatase PPP1CC Regulates the First Lineage Segregation by GAS5 in Mouse Preimplantation Embryos
Subcortical GAS5 directs PPP1CC phosphatase spatiotemporal positioning during mouse morula‐blastocyst transition, controlling YAP dephosphorylation to drive first embryonic lineage specification. ABSTRACT The transcriptional effector of the Hippo signalling pathway, YAP, regulates the first lineage specification in mouse preimplantation embryos ...

Using structured decision making to evaluate the tradeoffs of selective fish passage
Abstract Dams have dramatically altered rivers and are a major contributor to native fish population declines. However, many dams serve important ecological, social, and economic functions, such as flood control, invasive species control, and provision of recreational opportunities.

Integrating ecological feedbacks across scales and levels of organization
In ecosystems, species interact in various ways with other species, and with their local environment. In addition, ecosystems are coupled in space by diverse types of flows. From these links connecting different ecological entities can emerge circular pathways of indirect effects: feedback loops.
