Multidrug Resistant Salmonella enterica serovartyphi

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Medical Association, 2009
4In the following years, with the introduction of fl uoroquinolones in the treatment, nalidixic acid-resistant strains associated with reduced susceptibility to fl oroquinolones have been continuously reported from Nepal and trend of resistance is increasing.

Engineering of 2‐ketoacid Decarboxylases for Production of Isobutanol and Other Fusel Alcohols in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Isobutanol is a fusel alcohol that can be produced microbially for use as a biofuel or upgraded into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). A key enzyme in the isobutanol biosynthetic pathway is 2‐ketoacid decarboxylase (KDC), which irreversibly decarboxylates 2‐ketoisovalerate (KIV) to yield isobutyraldehyde.

Salmonella serovars in laying hen flocks and commercial table eggs from a region of São Paulo state, Brazil

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science, 2014
Salmonella spp. is the main originator of human foodborne diseases worldwide and is mainly transmitted by food containing eggs. In Brazil, as a result of the lack of studies and data collection very little is known about the prevalence of Salmonella spp.

Phenolic Profile and Bioactive Prospects of Wild Annona Species From Angola

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Annona species (Annonaceae family) are valued for their nutritional and medicinal importance, especially in traditional medicine. This study investigated the phenolic profiles of the Angolan Annona muricata, Annona squamosa, and Annona senegalensis leaves, stem barks, and seeds hydroethanolic, infusion, and decoction extracts, also evaluating ...

Fingerprinting of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis by ribotyping [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Microbiology and Infection, 1997
OBJECTIVE: To carry out an epidemiologic evaluation of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis outbreaks in households and small communities by means of rRNA gene restriction pattern analysis (ribotyping). METHODS: One hundred Enteritidis isolates dating from 1989 to 1994 which could be allocated epidemiologically to different sources ...

Identification of Natural Isonitriles Through Ligation to an Azomethine Imine Probe

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The azomethine imine (AMI)–isonitrile (NC) ligation allowed for the chemoselective detection of natural isonitriles in bacteria and fungi. The reactivity‐based screening establishes a new stereogenic center, thereby allowing for facile distinction between chiral and achiral isonitriles. The work also unraveled a unique reactivity of isonitriles bearing

Antibiotic Resistance Profile of Salmonella Enterica subsp. Enterica Isolated from Dog and Human Samples in Türkiye: The Case of Kastamonu

open access: yesActa Veterinaria
Salmonellosis is of great importance for humans and animals. Companion animals, particularly dogs, can be asymptomatic carriers of Salmonella, and thus have been ignored as a source of salmonellosis.

Tissue-specific Salmonella Typhimurium gene expression during persistence in pigs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Salmonellosis caused by Salmonella Typhimurium is one of the most important bacterial zoonotic diseases. The bacterium persists in pigs resulting in asymptomatic 'carrier pigs', generating a major source for Salmonella contamination of pork.
