Salt metathesis reactions of LnCl3 (Sc, Y vs. Sm, Yb) with potassium diphenylmethanide {[2,2′-(4-MeC6H3NMe2)2CH]K(THF)}2

Mendeleev Communications, 2021
The outcome of salt metathesis reactions between the equimolar amounts of LnCl3 and dimeric potassium diphenylmethanide {[2,2′-(4-MeC6H3NMe2)2CH]K(THF)}2 depends on the rare-earth metal ion. In the case of ScIII and YIII, the reactions afford chlorido-bis(diphenylmethanido) complexes {[2,2′-(4-MeC6H3NMe2)2CH]2LnIII(μ-Cl)}2, in which the ...

Observations on silver salt metathesis reactions with very weakly coordinating anions

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 1989
Silver salt metathesis reactions using the very weakly nucleophilic anion B 11 CH 12 − reveal several unexpected features of this otherwise familiar reaction. In contrast to AgClO 4 , which undergoes rapid metathesis with IrCl(CO)(PPh 3 ) 2 , the silver carborane salt Ag(B 11 CH 12 ) forms a very stable adduct.

On the usability of salt metathesis reactions for the synthesis of sterically crowded tris-formamidinate Ln(iii) complexes: success and limits. Spontaneous reduction of Eu(iii) to Eu(ii)

New Journal of Chemistry, 2022
New homoleptic complexes of Eu3+ and Nd3+ bearing three bulky N,N′-bis(diisopropylphenyl)formamidinates were prepared using salt metathesis in a toluene medium. In the presence of THF, the sterically-induced reduction of Eu3+ to Eu2+ was observed.

Ring-Closing Metathesis Reactions on Azinium Salts: Straightforward Access to Quinolizinium Cations and Their Dihydro Derivatives

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
The ring-closing metathesis reaction of 1-butenyl-2-vinylpyridinium salts and 2-butenyl-1-vinylpyridinium salts using Grubbs second generation and Hoveyda-Grubbs catalysts proved to be an efficient approach to 3,4-dihydro- and 1,2-dihydroquinolizinium salts and the corresponding quinolizinium derivatives by an improved thermal oxidation in the presence

Highly stereoselective metathesis reaction between optically active hydrosilane and copper(I) salt in 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1999
Abstract Highly stereoselective metathesis reactions between optically active silyl compounds and copper(I) salts in 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone (DMI) are reported. The substitution reaction of (+)-α-naphthylphenylmethylsilane with a mixture of lithium tert-butoxide and copper(I) salt smoothly proceeded in DMI to give the corresponding silyl ether
