Synthesis of novel room temperature chiral ionic liquids. application as reaction media for the heck arylation of aza-endocyclic acrylates. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
New achiral and chiral RTILs were prepared using novel and/or optimized synthetic routes. These new series of imidazolinium, imidazolium, pyridinium and nicotine-derived ionic liquids were fully characterized including differential scanning calorimetry ...

Synthesis and characterization of (.eta.5-C5Me5)2Ti(R)Cl (R = Me, Et, n-Pr, CH:CH2, Ph, O-n-Pr) and their salt metathesis reactions. Thermal decomposition pathways of (.eta.5-C5Me5)2Ti(Me)R' (R' = Et, CH:CH2, Ph, CH2Ph) [PDF]

open access: yesOrganometallics, 1992
Complexes Cp*2Ti(R)Cl (Cp* = η5-C5Me5; R = Me (1), Et (2), n-Pr (3), CH=CH2 (41, Ph (5), O-n-Pr (6)) have been prepared by oxidation of Cp*2TiR with lead dichloride. Not every compound Cp*2Ti(R)Cl was accessible and for R = CH2CMe3 and CH2Ph reduction to Cp*2TiCl and R· was observed.

Stereoselective protecting group free synthesis of d,l-gulose ethyl glycoside via multicomponent enyne cross metathesis—hetero Diels–Alder reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
An efficient and stereoselective synthesis of d,l-gulose was described. The key step of the synthetic route is represented by a multicomponent enyne cross metathesis—hetero Diels–Alder reaction which allows the formation of the pyran ring from cheap and ...

Merging Biocatalysis and Chemocatalysis in Flow: State‐of‐the‐Art and Future Directions for Sustainable Synthesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in integrating biocatalysis and chemocatalysis in continuous flow to create streamlined, sustainable processes. It examines chemo‐enzymatic cascades combining at least one enzymatic and one chemical step, discusses challenges such as enzyme immobilization, leaching, and reactor clogging, and presents solutions ...

Alkali and Alkaline Earth Metal Complexes Ligated by an Ethynyl Substituted Cyclopentadienyl Ligand

open access: yesInorganics, 2017
Sodium, potassium, and calcium compounds of trimethyl((2,3,4,5-tetramethylcyclopentadien-1-yl)ethynyl)silane (CpMe4(C≡CSiMe3)) were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction and standard analytical methods.

The Far Side of Carboranes: Anticancer Active Monocations and Ambiently Stable Dications

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work describes the synthesis of bench‐stable dicationic carboranes. Their enhanced electrophilicity is documented by opening the clusters with weak nucleophiles or dihydrogen. The surprising stability of positively charged carboranes in water enabled a study of their in vitro antiproliferative activity, which surpassed the effects of doxorubicin ...

Structurally Constrained Stibenium: Metallomimetic C−Si Bond Activation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A structurally constrained stibenium cation supported by a 2,6‐bis(o‐carborano)pyridine pincer‐type ligand was prepared, and its preliminary reactivity toward silanes was investigated. Remarkably, Si−C bonds in silanes undergo activation via an oxidative‐addition‐type process at the cationic Sb center.
