The effect of salt stress on the chlorophyll level of the main sand-binding plants in the shelterbelt along the Tarim Desert Highway [PDF]
Based on the fact that only high saline water irrigated to the shelterbelt along the Tarim Desert Highway, the experiment about three species with six degree of salinity was carried out to analyze the relation between chlorophyll content and salt stress.

Transcription elongation factor AtSPT4-2 positively modulates salt tolerance in Arabidopsis thaliana
Background Salt stress significantly influences plant growth and reduces crop yield. It is highly anticipated to develop salt-tolerant crops with salt tolerance genes and transgenic technology.

Level set based particle filter driven by optical flow: an application to track the salt boundary from X-ray CT time-series [PDF]
Image-based computational fluid dynamics have long played an important role in leveraging knowledge and understanding of several physical phenomena. In particular, probabilistic computational methods have opened the way to modelling the complex dynamics of systems in purely random turbulent motion.

Anomalous Diffusion and Stress Relaxation in Surfactant Micelles [PDF]
We present the first molecular dynamics study to probe the mechanisms of anomalous diffusion in cationic surfactant micelles in the presence of explicit salt and solvent-mediated interactions. Simulations show that when the counter ion density increases, saddle-shaped interfaces manifest leading to the formation of branched structures.

Salt and drought stresses in safflower: a review [PDF]
AbstractSafflower is one of the oldest cultivated crops, usually grown at a small scale. Safflower is grown for flowers used for coloring, flavoring foods, dyes, medicinal properties, and livestock feed. Safflower is underutilized but gaining attention due to oil yield potential and the ability to grow under high temperatures, drought, and salinity ...

Objective Gastrointestinal perforation (GIP) is a rare and life‐threatening safety concern associated with JAK inhibitors (JAKi). We aimed to review the evidence regarding the risk of GIP associated with the use of JAKi in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) using a systematic review and network meta‐analysis approach.

Does stress induce salt intake? [PDF]
Psychological stress is a common feature of modern day societies, and contributes to the global burden of disease. It was proposed by Henry over 20 years ago that the salt intake of a society reflects the level of stress, and that stress, through its ...

Combined Piezoelectrooptic Effect in Rochelle Salt at the Phase Transition [PDF]
The results of study of piezoelectrooptic (PEO) effect in the course of ferroelectric-ferroelastic phase transition in Rochelle salt crystals are presented. The coefficient of the combined effect is obtained from measurements of the changes in the electrooptic coefficients under the action of mechanical stress and the changes in the piezooptic ...

Unraveling salt stress signaling in plants [PDF]
AbstractSalt stress is a major environmental factor limiting plant growth and productivity. A better understanding of the mechanisms mediating salt resistance will help researchers design ways to improve crop performance under adverse environmental conditions.
