Tandem Duplication‐Driven Neofunctionalization of UDP‐Glycosyltransferases Shapes the Diversification of Triterpenoid Saponins in the Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Cerium Nanoparticle‐Mediated Inhibition of the NSUN2/m5C Axis Suppresses Synovial Aggression in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel epitranscriptomic mechanism in rheumatoid arthritis is uncovered: NSUN2 promotes disease via m5C‐dependent stabilization of ICMT mRNA, fueling the migration and invasion of pathogenic RA FLS. Targeting this axis with engineered nanoparticles (Ce/SAA NPs) effectively inhibits disease progression, presenting a precise therapeutic strategy ...

Fun‐sized library prep: Miniaturization is a valid method for per‐sample cost reduction in targeted sequencing of angiosperm DNA

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Genomic analysis of population structure is important for understanding plant genetic diversity among and within populations. A limitation to the broader application of genetics in conservation and related fields is the cost of obtaining large datasets.

Toward Comprehensive Climate Action: Assessing Mitigation Approaches Across Canadian Municipalities

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Local governments are widely regarded as key leaders in the global response to climate change. Understanding if and how municipalities commit to climate mitigation is crucial for assessing their contribution to global emission‐reduction goals and identifying barriers to effective climate transitions.
