Multi-Aligned and Multi-Scale Augmentation for Occluded Person Re-Identification

open access: yesSensors
Occluded person re-identification (Re-ID) faces significant challenges, mainly due to the interference of occlusion noise and the scarcity of realistic occluded training data.

Contact Lens with Moiré Patterns for High‐Precision Eye Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a passive contact lens for high‐precision eye tracking, integrating a microscopic moiré grating label. The parallax‐induced shift of macroscopic moiré patterns enables angle measurement with 0.28° precision using a standard camera under ambient light.

Ceramic Particle‐Reinforced Medium‐Entropy Alloys With Outstanding Mechanical Properties Prepared by Novel Micro‐LPBF

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative medium entropy alloy (MEA) composite material was fabricated via micro laser powder bed fusion (μ‐LPBF) with appropriate nano‐ceramic particles doping and exhibited markedly improved overall performance, including synergistically enhanced strength and ductility, increased hardness and compressive strength, improved wear resistance and ...

The Augmented SOLOW Model And The OECD Sample

open access: yesInternational Business & Economics Research Journal (IBER), 2011
In their influential work on the augmented Solow model, Mankiw, Romer and Weil (1992) showed that cross-section evidence was reasonably consistent with the Solow growth model augmented to include human capital for a wide range of countries. However, for the sample of OECD countries, they found that the model had low explanatory power and underestimated

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Synthetic Data Generation for Augmenting Small Samples

open access: yes
Small datasets are common in health research. However, the generalization performance of machine learning models is suboptimal when the training datasets are small. To address this, data augmentation is one solution. Augmentation increases sample size and is seen as a form of regularization that increases the diversity of small datasets, leading them ...

Photoconductivity‐Driven Quantum Efficiency Gain in Inorganic Ruddlesden‐Popper Layered Cs2PbBr2I2 Perovskite Photodetector for Visible Light Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rational halogen mixing strategy was employed to shift the bandgap of Cs2PbBr2I2 from ultraviolet to visible region, enabling first realization of a visible‐light photodetector with this 2D layered Ruddlesden‐Popper perovskite material. Under illumination, light‐induced internal field forms and drives trap‐mediated persistent photoconductivity ...

Lithium Intercalation in the Anisotropic Van Der Waals Semiconductor CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report the lithium intercalation in the layered van der Waals crystal CrSBr, revealing strongly anisotropic ion‐migration dynamics. Optical and electrical characterization of exfoliated CrSBr shows lithium diffusion coefficients that differ by more than an order of magnitude along a‐ and b‐directions, consistent with molecular dynamics simulations ...
