Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Sampling using a ‘bank’ of clues

open access: yes, 2010
An easy-to-implement form of the Metropolis Algorithm is described which, unlike most standard techniques, is well suited to sampling from multi-modal distributions on spaces with moderate numbers of dimensions (order ten) in environments typical of ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Sampling equilibrium through descriptive simulations

open access: yes, 2006
A definition of sampling equilibrium was introduced in (Osborne and Rubinstein 1998). A dynamic version of the model was introduced in (Sethi 2000). However, a descriptive simulation based on the above idea of procedural rationality (i.e.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Sampling for the Measurement of Structured Surfaces

open access: yes
Structured surfaces are increasingly popular in manufacturing due to their ability to affect the function of a component, for example paintability and adhesiveness.

Experience Sampling [PDF]

open access: yes
Experience Sampling refers to the repeated sampling of momentary experiences in the individual’s natural environment. Methodological advantages include the minimization of retrospective response biases and the maximization of the validity of the ...

A matrix pencil approach to the existence of compactly supported reconstruction functions in average sampling

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of this work is to solve a question raised for average sampling in shift-invariant spaces by using the well-known matrix pencil theory. In many common situations in sampling theory, the available data are samples of some convolution operator ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

A survey of potential sampling strategies for measurement of structured surfaces.

open access: yes, 2009
Uniform sampling is the predominant sampling method for surface measuring instruments. However, measurement for structured surfaces brings an increasingly serious conflict between sampling range and small resolution.
