Research on compressive sensing of strong earthquake signals for earthquake early warning

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk, 2021
Earthquake early warning is an effective method to reduce casualties and losses. Based on the theory of compressive sensing, this paper proposes a strong earthquake signal processing architecture based on compressive sensing for difficulties of the ...

Synchronization of sampling in distributed signal processing systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing, 2003, 2004
In distributed signal processing systems, every node samples analog signals by its own AD converter. Sampling is controlled by autonomous clocks, that are generally not synchronizable. In order to ensure synchronized operation among the different nodes of the distributed system, both the drift of these clocks, and the jitter of the sampling is handled.

Generalized Sampling on Graphs With Subspace and Smoothness Priors

open access: yes, 2019
We propose a framework for generalized sampling of graph signals that parallels sampling in shift-invariant (SI) subspaces. This framework allows for arbitrary input signals, which are not constrained to be bandlimited.

Implementing Health‐Related Quality of Life Assessment in Pediatric Oncology: A Feasibility Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background There is growing interest in embedding health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) assessment and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) within clinical cancer care. This study evaluated the feasibility, acceptability, and usability of implementing an electronic PROM (ePROM) platform to measure HRQoL in children with cancer ...

Broadband Signal Digitization Based on Low-Speed Non-Uniform Photonic Sampling

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
A new non-uniform photonic sampling (NPS) strategy and its special signal reconstruction algorithm are proposed to achieve digital acquisition of broadband periodic signals at a low sampling rate.

Local-set-based Graph Signal Reconstruction

open access: yes, 2015
Signal processing on graph is attracting more and more attentions. For a graph signal in the low-frequency subspace, the missing data associated with unsampled vertices can be reconstructed through the sampled data by exploiting the smoothness of the ...

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Graph Signal Processing: Modulation, Convolution, and Sampling

open access: yes, 2019
To analyze data supported by arbitrary graphs G, DSP has been extended to Graph Signal Processing (GSP) by redefining traditional DSP concepts like shift, filtering, and Fourier transform among others. This paper revisits modulation, convolution, and sampling of graph signals as appropriate natural extensions of the corresponding DSP concepts.

Special Considerations in Estate Planning for Same-Sex and Unmarried Couples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Sub-Nyquist sampling makes use of sparsities in analog signals to sample them at a rate lower than the Nyquist rate. The reduction in sampling rate, however, comes at the cost of additional digital signal processing (DSP) which is required to reconstruct

Intraoperative Collection of Ascitic Fluid With Intra‐ or Postoperative Reinfusion in Ovarian Cancer: Safety and Feasibility of a Roller Pumping Method

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with ovarian cancer often present with massive ascites, leading to significant protein loss during surgical procedures. Although cell‐free concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART) is used in palliative settings to mitigate protein loss, its application in intraoperative settings remains unexplored.
