This paper deals with a novel robust current control scheme for PMSM drives, based on the model predictive control (MPC) theory. It has been designed a simple quadratic formulation of the reference tracking problem in order to compute the optimal ...

Continuous Time Bandits with Sampling Costs
We consider a continuous-time multi-arm bandit problem (CTMAB), where the learner can sample arms any number of times in a given interval and obtain a random reward from each sample, however, increasing the frequency of sampling incurs an additive penalty/cost.

We examined the blood lactate response, in terms of the maximal post-exercise concentration (Lamax), time to reach Lamax, and maximal lactate accumulation rate (VLamax), to swimming sprints of 25, 35, and 50 m.

Maize (Zea mays) is the most consumed food in the world. The leafhopper, Dalbulus maidis, (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) is one of the most important maize pests, and due to its direct and indirect damage, it can cause losses of up to 100%. Sampling plans are

Influence of sampling time on assessment of potential doubling time [PDF]
AbstractPotential doubling time (Tpot), S‐phase transit time (Ts), and labeling index were determined in three experimental rodent tumors by in vivo incorporation of bromodeoxyuridine and flow cytometry. The kinetic parameters were derived from the relative movement method at varying sampling times (time between injection of bromodeoxyuridine and tumor

Role of the sampling weight in evaluating classical time autocorrelation functions [PDF]
We analyze how the choice of the sampling weight affects the efficiency of the Monte Carlo evaluation of classical time autocorrelation functions. Assuming uncorrelated sampling or sampling with constant correlation length, we propose a sampling weight ...

Time-Scale and Time-Frequency Analyses of Irregularly Sampled Astronomical Time Series [PDF]
Summary: We evaluate the quality of spectral restoration in the case of irregular sampled signals in astronomy. We study in details a time-scale method leading to a global wavelet spectrum comparable to the Fourier period, and a time-frequency matching pursuit allowing us to identify the frequencies and to control the error propagation.
