Investigating CMAS corrosion in ultrahigh temperature Hf6Ta2O17‐based thermal barrier coatings: A mechanism by which corrosion products hinder corrosion resistance

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
During the corrosion of Hf6Ta2O17 by CMAS, stable corrosion products—CaTa2O6 and HfSiO4 form at the interface, which hinder further corrosion of Hf6Ta2O17 by CMAS. This mechanism successfully explains the excellent CMAS corrosion resistance of the Hf6Ta2O17 thermal barrier coating.

Neotaphonomic Analysis of Bone Accumulation by a Nocturnal Raptor (Bubo bubo): Evidence From Avian Remains in Oliva Mountain (Tarragona, Spain)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Osteoarchaeology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Raptors play a major role in the formation of avian bone assemblages. To distinguish the agents responsible for accumulations, it is necessary to deepen their taphonomic patterns, derived from the consumption process carried out by the predator. These patterns aid in interpreting fossil assemblages, facilitating palaeoecological reconstruction

Limited impacts of simulated soil disturbance by rewilded vertebrates on above‐ and below‐ground biodiversity

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Rewilding with locally extinct terrestrial vertebrates has been a popular conservation initiative over the past few decades. Among the animals used for rewilding are the small‐ to medium‐sized vertebrates that forage in the soil and that have been lost from many ecosystems due to habitat destruction or predation by exotic species.

Impact of clinically acquired miltefosine resistance by Leishmania infantum on mouse and sand fly infection

open access: yesInternational Journal for Parasitology: Drugs and Drug Resistance, 2020
Objectives: This study evaluated the implications of clinically acquired miltefosine resistance (MIL-R) by assessing virulence in mice and sand flies to reveal the potential of MIL-R strains to circulate.

Bioleaching as an Eco‐Friendly Nano‐Factory for Sustainable Inorganic Waste Management: Current Advancements, Challenges, and Opportunities

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
The review explores the latest updates and information about the global trends and hazards of e‐waste and also discusses the bioleaching of metals and nanoparticles from various inorganic wastes. It also focuses on the mechanistic pathway of the bioleaching process and computational aspects. Inorganic waste management and metal recovery technology pose
