Hijacking the Host Clock: A Nematode Effector Antagonizes Soybean Circadian Defense and Translation Control

Soybean employs its circadian clock, governed by GmCCA1, to rhythmically defend against soybean cyst nematodes. The pathogen retaliates by secreting the effector Hg4E02, which hijacks the clock to suppress defense and co‐opt the host's translation machinery for nutrient acquisition.

Adhesion‐Driven Removal of Microplastics From Aquatic Systems by Using Microgel Glues

Soft polymeric microgels function as “glues” that aggregate diverse microplastics through multivalent adhesion, promoting their interfacial deposition and co‐precipitation for efficient removal from water. The source of compressive stresses lies in the structure of quartz sand. By reaching the critical temperature (from 560 to 580 °C), the quartz sand grains increase volume. The increase in volume causes the movement of surrounding grains of sand.
