On the Deformation of Parallelogrammic Sandwich Panels

The Aeronautical Journal, 1970
Sandwich panels are utilised quite often in aircraft and missile structures mainly because of their high strength to weight ratio. The core of the panel, made of light material such as balsa wood or synthetic material, stabilises the face skin sheet which is usually metallic, and contributes to the shear strength of the section.Rectangular sandwich ...

Spring-in of angled sandwich panels

Composites Science and Technology, 2005
This paper presents a simple analytical model for the prediction of thermo-elastic deformation (spring-in) of angled composite sandwich panels. The development of the model is presented and the simplifying assumptions are clearly defined. Contributions from different mechanisms are clearly shown which gives a good understanding of the problem.
