Ostracodes from the Aptian–Santonian of the Santos, Campos and Espírito Santo basins, Brazil

Journal of South American Earth Sciences, 2013
Abstract The Lower and Upper Cretaceous deposits from the Brazilian marginal basins present a rich and diversified fauna of ostracodes in continental, marine and mixohaline paleoenvironments. While the Cretaceous ostracodes from the northeastern region have already been the subject of many taxonomic and biostratigraphical studies, data from the ...

SS: Pre-salt Santos basin - Challenges and New Technologies for the Development of the Pre-salt Cluster, Santos Basin, Brazil

Offshore Technology Conference, 2009
Abstract Pre-salt carbonate reservoirs from Santos Basin represent a great opportunity and probably the most important recent oil discovery. Tupi area (estimated to have recoverable volume of 5 to 8 bboe), which is the most known amongst several other leads in the cluster, is going to be a great insight for the ...

Inversion of Multicomponent Seismic Data of the Santos Basin

Proceedings, 2016
The velocity analysis is conventionally performed fitting the curve generated by the travel-time approximation to the reflections identified on seismic records. The hyperbolic approximation developed is conventionally used, however it is not valid to nonhyperbolic reflection events observed in multicomponent seismic data.

The rifting evolution of the Santos Basin: A Geophysical view

13th International Congress of the Brazilian Geophysical Society & EXPOGEF, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 26–29 August 2013, 2013
This study investigates the rifting architecture and tectonic evolution of Santos Basin at Southeastern Brazilian Margin, based on integrated geophysical data. A high resolution aeromagnetic grid is correlated with gravity anomalies and published seismic lines, in order to provide a regional view of the Santos Basin.

Evidences of instability processes at the Espírito Santo basin

2013 IEEE/OES Acoustics in Underwater Geosciences Symposium, 2013
A geophysical survey carried out at the Espirito Santo basin, on the southeast coast of Brazil, identified several geomorphologies of instability such as: canyons and gullies. Besides these, muddy deposits were found providing evidence of turbidity currents.

Evolution of polycyclic alkanes in the Espirito Santo Basin

Organic Geochemistry, 1986
The distributions of polycyclic alkanes were monitored in a Neocomian sequence (well 1-ESS-34) from the Espirito Santo Basin, southeast Brazil. The profiles included, apart from regular hopanes, significant concentrations of 18α(H), 28,30-bisnorhopane and subordinate amounts of gammacerane. Sterane concentrations, normally with hopane/sterane

Metocean Measurements at Northern Santos Basin - Brazil

Offshore Technology Conference, 2010
Abstract Santos Basin is located on the western border of the South Atlantic Ocean, between latitudes of 23°S and 28°S along the Brazilian shelf. It will probably be one of the new deepwater frontiers of worldwide offshore oil exploration and production.

Application of 3D Interbed Multiple Attenuation in the Santos Basin, Brazil

Proceedings, 2011
Imaging of pre-salt reservoirs in the Santos Basin can be significantly affected by the presence of strong interbed multiples in the data. These multiples can be predicted using a data-driven, true azimuth convolution method similar to surface-related multiple elimination (SRME), and removed using a suitably constrained subtraction technique.

An Evaluation of the Heat Flow Anomalies in the Espírito Santo Basin, Brazil

11th International Congress of the Brazilian Geophysical Society & EXPOGEF 2009, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, 24-28 August 2009, 2009
Determination of the Earth's long-term surface heat flow is an important issue in petroleum exploration because it controls the depth / size of the kitchen zones, the amount of generated petroleum, the time of oil expulsion from the source rock, the reservoir temperature, and the oil quality. The Espirito Santo Basin is a relatively well explored basin,
