Breathing in Plants and Chaos—Cosmic Tree Events in Cameroon and Beyond

open access: yesAnthropology of Consciousness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Contemporary practices of tapping into the wisdom of ancestral trees are described through three entangled recent events lived within the context of Bantu practices in Cameroon. In the three instances, the steered or chance encounters with high potency trees were serendipitous telling moments which brought something new to the horizon.

Morphology and Chemical Characterization of the Metathoracic Scent Gland in Halyomorpha halys (Stål, 1855) (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomidae)

open access: yesActa Zoologica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Halyomorpha halys (Stål, 1855) is an invasive pentatomid species causing considerable economic losses in agricultural systems. Despite the ecological importance of the metathoracic scent gland (MTG) in chemical defence and communication, detailed information on its morphology and secretion composition remains limited. In the present study, the

Ribbonized sap flow: an emerging technology for the integration of sap flow sensor components onto a single platform [PDF]

open access: yesEcosphere, 2020
AbstractTrees play an important role in both the water and carbon cycles. Sensors that measure the flow rate of sap in individual trees provide critical insight into water use dynamics, and these data are vital for the understanding of ecosystem functions.

Sap Flow Measurements

2017
Sap flow measurements of trees are today the most common method to determine transpiration at the tree and the forest canopy level. They provide independent measurements for flux comparisons and model validation. Sap flow measurements of Norway spruce (Picea abies) which were conducted in the mountain range of the Fichtelgebirge (Germany) are reviewed ...
