Estimation of transpiration in oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) with the heat ratio method

open access: yesAgronomía Colombiana, 2016
Sap flow sensors were installed on the leaf petioles of 5-year-old oil palms (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) to measure the xylem water flow for 12 days based on the heat ratio method (HRM).

Carrier‐Free Berberine/Nitidine Chloride Self‐Assembled Nanoparticles Induce Ferroptosis to Overcome Bortezomib Resistance in Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A schematic illustrating the fabrication process and ferroptosis‐mediated therapeutic mechanism of carrier‐free self‐assembled BBR/NC‐SAPs for overcoming bortezomib resistance in multiple myeloma. ABSTRACT Therapeutic relapse driven by bortezomib resistance represents a formidable clinical barrier in the management of multiple myeloma (MM).

Sap flow in response to rainfall pulses for two shrub species in the semiarid Chinese Loess Plateau

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics, 2016
Rainfall pulses can significantly drive the evolution of the structure and function of semiarid ecosystems, and understanding the mechanisms that underlie the response of semiarid plants to rainfall is the key to understanding the responses of semi–arid ...

Sap flow and sugar transport in plants [PDF]

open access: yesReviews of Modern Physics, 2016
Green plants are Earth’s primary solar energy collectors. They harvest the energy of the Sun by converting light energy into chemical energy stored in the bonds of sugar molecules. A multitude of carefully orchestrated transport processes are needed to move water and minerals from the soil to sites of photosynthesis and to distribute energy-rich sugars

Herbivory‐Induced Stomatal Opening Triggers the Dispersal of an Invasive Insect Herbivore

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The invasive leafminer Phthorimaea absoluta uniquely manipulates plant defenses by inducing stomatal opening in tomato. This response, mediated by the stomatal regulator IQM1, enhances the release of the repellent volatile benzaldehyde. This volatile triggers the dispersal of adult moths, facilitates colonization of new hosts, and leads to rapid ...

Sap flow in tree trunks within Chaohe mountain area and its variation with meteorological factors

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao
【Objective】 Water ascent in plant is driven by water evaporation from leaves, influenced by meteorological factors. Understanding its variation with these factors is important to unveil the mechanisms underlying plant transpiration.

An Effector TaCRVP From Tuta Absoluta Oral Secretion Impairs H2O2‐Mediated Plant Defense by Targeting Tomato SlCAT2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Tuta absoluta salivary effector TaCRVP subverts tomato immunity by hijacking host catalase SlCAT2. Through a sophisticated dual mechanism, TaCRVP simultaneously promotes SlCAT2 tetramerization for activation and blocks its SlAdBiL‐mediated degradation for stabilization.
