Impacts of Nonlinear Loads on the Power Quality of Solar Microgrids and Proposed Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 4, Page 1960-1982, April 2025.
Nonlinear loads in solar microgrids introduce power quality issues such as harmonics, voltage distortions, and reduced system efficiency. These disturbances negatively impact the stability and performance of microgrid components, leading to increased losses and potential equipment damage.

PZS‐Net: Incorporating of Frame Sequence and Multi‐Scale Priors for Prostate Zonal Segmentation in Transrectal Ultrasound

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2025.
A deep‐learning‐based segmentation method that aimed to segment prostate zones in transrectal ultrasound videos shows results similar to the labels annotated by expert urologists in a prospectively acquired test database. The method is demonstrated to significantly improve prostate zonal segmentation compared with popular segmentation methods.

Self tunning filter for three levels four legs shunt active power filter with fuzzy logic controller

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2021
The low harmonic distortion and reduced switching losses are the advantages of using the multilevel inverter. For this purpose, the three-level inverter is used in this paper as a three-phase four-leg shunt active power filter (SAPF). The SAPF is used to

Constrained FCS‐MPC‐Based Current Controller for Voltage Source Converters: Application to Shunt Active Power Filters

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this paper, a constrained FCS‐MPC based current controller is introduced for controlling shunt active power filters. In the proposed current controller, the objective function is same as used in the conventional FCS‐MPC and a switching frequency constraint is considered to reduce the average switching frequency. The results obtained from FPGA in the

Model‐Free Predictive Direct Control of Unified Power Quality Conditioner Based on Ultra‐Local Model

open access: yesIET Energy Systems Integration, Volume 7, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
ABSTRACT To enhance the robustness of the unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) with finite control set model predictive control (FCS‐MPC), direct control in the dq coordinate system faces challenges such as complex coordinate transformation, system coupling issue and phase‐locked‐loop delays.
