Phytotoxicity and Identification of Secondary Metabolites of Sapindus saponaria L. Leaf Extract

Journal of Plant Growth Regulation, 2014
The aim of this study was to evaluate and quantify the phytotoxic effects of hexane and ethyl acetate fractions obtained from a leaf extract of Sapindus saponaria on the germination and seedling growth of Euphorbia heterophylla (wild poinsettia) and Echinochloa crus-galli (barnyardgrass) and to isolate and identify the major bioactive compounds.

Biological activity and isolated compounds in Sapindus saponaria L. and other plants of the genus Sapindus

2008
Species of Sapindus (Sapindaceae) are widespread throughout the tropics (e.g., Brazil, China and India). The present report is based on available data and references on species of this genus. The main substances found in plants of the genus Sapindus are acetylated triterpenic saponin and acyclic sesquiterpene oligoglycosides.

Strong and Stiff Sapindus saponaria Seed Shell with Gradient Structure

Small
AbstractPlants often develop robust lignocellulosic seed shells to protect their embryos. These seed shells with exceptional mechanical properties provide inspiration for bioinspired design and fabrication strategies. Here, a strong and stiff Sapindus saponaria (S.

The toxicity of Sapindus saponaria and Piper hancei extracts against Bactrocera dorsalis

AgroTech Food Science, Technology and Environment
Botanical extract as alternative insecticides to chemical pesticides are widely studied globally. This study aims to evaluate the toxicity of ethanol extracts of S. saponaria and petroleum ether extracts of P. hancei against B. dorsalis. The two extracts were diluted into four different concentrations and applied to test tubes to form a pesticide film.
