Wafer scale BN on sapphire substrates for improved graphene transport
Wafer scale (2”) BN grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) on sapphire was examined as a weakly interacting dielectric substrate for graphene, demonstrating improved transport properties over conventional sapphire and SiO2/Si substrates.

The spall strength of c-cut sapphire has been measured as a function of the load duration and peak stress. In experiments, the VISAR particle velocity histories at the interface between the sapphire samples and a water or LiF window were recorded. The peak shock stress was varied from 17.3 GPa up to 21.4 GPa that is below the Hugoniot elastic limit ...

Heat Conduction Modulation in Incommensurate Twisted Stacking of Transition‐Metal Dichalcogenide
The interlayer thermal conductance in twisted bilayer TMDs is initially investigated experimentally by the thermoreflectance method. The overlap of lattice vibrations within individual layers and the interlayer interactions, as elucidated through both Raman spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations, are demonstrated to be critical factors in ...

Interface Characteristics of Sapphire Direct Bonding for High-Temperature Applications
In this letter, we present a sapphire direct bonding method using plasma surface activation, hydrophilic pre-bonding, and high temperature annealing. Through the combination of sapphire inductively coupled plasma etching and the direct bonding process, a
