LysR‐Type Transcriptional Regulator VirR Responds to Temperature and pH and Directly Activates the Transcription of virS‐Containing Operon in Rhodococcus equi

open access: yesInternational Journal of Microbiology, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Rhodococcus equi—a facultative intracellular pathogen of macrophages—causes bronchopneumonia in foals and patients who are immunocompromised. Virulent strains of R. equi possess a virulence‐associated plasmid, which encodes a 15‐ to 17‐kDa surface protein called virulence‐associated protein A (VapA).

Efficient 3D cone trajectory design for improved combined angiographic and perfusion imaging using arterial spin labeling

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 92, Issue 4, Page 1568-1583, October 2024.
Abstract Purpose To improve the spatial resolution and repeatability of a non‐contrast MRI technique for simultaneous time resolved 3D angiography and perfusion imaging by developing an efficient 3D cone trajectory design. Methods A novel parameterized 3D cone trajectory design incorporating the 3D golden angle was integrated into 4D combined ...

Chiral Heterometallic Cu8Ln4 Complexes with Enantiopure Schiff Base Ligands: Synthesis, Structural, Spectroscopic and Magnetic Studies

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Volume 89, Issue 8, August 2024.
Bottom‐up synthesis following the principle of transferring the chirality from molecules to assemblies gave new magnetochiral materials. The enantiopure heterometallic Schiff base complexes {Cu8Ln4} retain their chirality both, in the solid state and in solution, as revealed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and CD studies, and their magnetic ...

C-Band Scanning ARM Precipitation Radar (C-SAPR) Handbook [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The C-band scanning ARM precipitation radar (C-SAPR) is a scanning polarimetric Doppler radar transmitting simultaneously in both H and V polarizations. With a 350-kW magnetron transmitter, this puts 125 kW of transmitted power for each polarization. The receiver for the C-SAPR is a National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) -developed Hi-Q system

Regulatory interactions between daptomycin‐ and bacitracin‐responsive pathways coordinate the cell envelope antibiotic resistance response of Enterococcus faecalis

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, Volume 121, Issue 6, Page 1148-1163, June 2024.
This study explored a regulatory network controlling resistance against daptomycin and bacitracin in Enterococcus faecalis. We show that resistance gene expression for both antibiotics is controlled by two regulatory systems, LiaFSR and SapRS, working in sequence and together processing two stimuli.
