Clinical characteristics of patients in a case control study of sarcoidosis.
Sarcoidosis may be affected by sex, race, and age. A Case Control Etiologic Study of Sarcoidosis (ACCESS) enrolled 736 patients with sarcoidosis within 6 mo of diagnosis from 10 clinical centers in the United States.

A 54-year-old man presented with symmetric, bulbous, nodular enlargement of the nasal tip and alae nasi. At first inspection, the changes appeared to be consistent with rhinophyma, but a biopsy specimen showed noncaseating granulomata that were consistent with sarcoidosis.

Familial polyposis syndrome and achalasia in a young adult
Abstract We report the case of a 19‐year‐old White male diagnosed with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), Gardner's syndrome (GS) phenotype, status post total colectomy, who developed progressive dysphagia and weight loss. He was diagnosed with achalasia based on imaging and esophageal manometry.
