Predictive value of tumor microenvironment on pathologic response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcomas

open access: yesJournal of Hematology & Oncology
Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcomas (UPS) represent a prevalent and aggressive subtype of soft tissue sarcomas (STS) in adults. Despite advancements in loco regional treatments, many patients with high grade STS, including UPS, develop metastatic ...

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

Aberrant SUMOylation Restricts the Targetable Cancer Immunopeptidome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pharmacological SUMOylation inhibition (SUMOi) counteracts tumor immune evasion by unmasking an immunogenic HLA‐I peptide and neoepitope repertoire. By restoring HLA‐I ligand availability through increased antigen processing and presentation, enhanced proteasomal cleavage, and modulated TAP1 peptide affinity, SUMOi boosts tumor immunogenicity ...

Targeting Microglial CD49a Inhibits Neuroinflammation and Demonstrates Therapeutic Potential for Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that integrin receptor CD49a (Itga1 gene) is significantly upregulated in hyperactivated microglia and microglia‐specific knockdown of Itga1 rescues neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration in a chronic Parkinson's disease (PD) model by targeting PGAM5‐mediated mitochondrial dysfunction and NLRP3 activation. Targeted inhibition of CD49a

Targeting the EphA2 pathway: could it be the way for bone sarcomas?

open access: yesCell Communication and Signaling
Bone sarcomas are malignant tumors of mesenchymal origin. Complete surgical resection is the cornerstone of multidisciplinary treatment. However, advanced, unresectable forms remain incurable.

The role of free flap reconstruction after resection of extremity and trunk soft tissue sarcomas. Results of two referral centers in Argentina

open access: yesClinical Surgical Oncology
Introduction: For patients affected by extremity or trunk soft-tissue sarcomas (STS) large resections might be needed to achieve negative margins. This is a common scenario especially in locally advanced or recurrent tumors often within a pre-irradiated ...
