Variations of Somatotype in elderly Sardinians
American Journal of Human Biology, 2005Somatotyping is an effective technique for the study of anthropometric variations and body composition in elderly subjects, even though it has not often been used in this field. A Sardinian Map for Multiple Sclerosis
Future Microbiology, 2013Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex autoimmune disease of the CNS. At present, MS etiology remains unknown, but it is believed to be caused by environmental factors acting on a genetic predisposition. Several studies suggest that different microorganisms could play a role in triggering autoimmunity, through immunological cross-reactivity or molecular ...

Alpha thalassaemia in Sardinian newborns
British Journal of Haematology, 1984SUMMARYIn this study we describe the correlation between the haematological parameters (red cell indices and Hb Bart's levels) and the α‐globin genotype in Sardinian newborns. Increased Hb Bart's levels at birth always indicates α‐thalassaemia, either of the deletion or non‐deletion variety.

This chapter presents a detailed study of the word order of Old Sardinian. The Sardinian data are of particular interest as the language has been claimed to have a form of verb-initial grammar in the small existing literature on the topic. Old Sardinian is shown to have the V-to-C movement characteristic of other Medieval Romance varieties but to lack ...

Journal of the International Phonetic Association, 2019
Sardinian is a Romance language spoken almost exclusively on the island of Sardinia, an autonomous region of Italy. Sardinian and Italian are not mutually intelligible; there is considerable structural distance between the two linguistic systems, at all linguistic levels (Loporcaro 2009: 162–171).

The Subcommander and the Sardinian
Mexican Studies/Estudios Mexicanos, 2013Numerous scholars have adopted a Gramscian framework when analyzing the Zapatistas and Subcommander Marcos. Some, however, have gone beyond the evidence, claiming that Marcos was influenced by Gramsci. Inspection of the Subcommander’s discourse provides no proof that he has been directly influenced by the Sardinian; instead, indigenous thought and ...
