Synergistic toxicity of some sulfonamide mixtures on Daphnia magna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In livestock farming, sulfonamides (SAs) are used prophylactically and simultaneously in large numbers of animals. Therefore, traces of these compounds, alone or in combination, have been repeatedly detected in the environment.

How to use analysis of variance correctly——an analysis of variance for the univariate quantitative data collected from the nested design

open access: yesSichuan jingshen weisheng, 2022
The purpose of this paper was to introduce the nested design and its quantitative data analysis of variance and the SAS implementation. If one of the following two characteristics existed in a specific experimental study, a nested design could be ...

How to use χ2 test correctly——the analysis of common odds ratio for the data of a multiway table and the implementation of SAS software

open access: yesSichuan jingshen weisheng, 2021
The purpose of this article was to introduce the odds ratio analysis method of g×2×2 table data and the calculation method based on SAS software. The contents included the following aspects: firstly, the homogeneity test of the odds ratio of the data in ...

Detecting variable responses in time-series using repeated measures ANOVA: Application to physiologic challenges. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We present an approach to analyzing physiologic timetrends recorded during a stimulus by comparing means at each time point using repeated measures analysis of variance (RMANOVA).

Multiple Imputation UsingSASSoftware

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2011
Multiple imputation provides a useful strategy for dealing with data sets that have missing values. Instead of filling in a single value for each missing value, a multiple imputation procedure replaces each missing value with a set of plausible values that represent theuncertainty about the right value to impute.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.
