Satellite Constellation Internet Affordability and Need [PDF]
Abstract Large satellite constellations in low-Earth orbit seek to be the infrastructure for global broadband Internet and other telecommunication needs. We briefly review the impacts of satellite constellations on astronomy and show that the Internet service offered by these satellites will primarily target populations where it is ...

Impact of Mega Constellations on Geospace Safety
The extent of the impact of mega constellations on the low-orbiting geospace environment, which has not yet been assessed in more concrete quantitative terms, is an extremely important issue to consider as mega constellations are built.

Large Constellations of Small Satellites: A Survey of Near Future Challenges and Missions
Constellations of satellites are being proposed in large numbers; most of them are expected to be in orbit within the next decade. They will provide communication to unserved and underserved communities, enable global monitoring of Earth and enhance ...

Novel virtual satellite formation scheme for deterministic transmission
Although satellite formation flying could effectively support deterministic transmission due to its stable formation, but its formation control required significant real-time computational overhead and did not support flexible deployment for multi ...

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Handover Strategies for Emerging LEO, MEO, and HEO Satellite Networks
Satellite networks are expected to support global connectivity via future 3GPP non-terrestrial networks (NTNs), as well as private non-geostationary satellite orbit (NGSO) constellations, e.g. OneWeb, SpaceX, and Amazon’s Kuiper.

Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Constellation design and performance of future quantum satellite gravity missions
Temporal aliasing is currently the largest error contributor to time-variable satellite gravity field models. Therefore, the evolution of sensor technologies has to be complemented by strategies to reduce temporal aliasing errors.
