Nominal definition of satellite constellations under the Earth gravitational potential [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This work focuses on the definition of satellite constellations whose secular relative distributions are invariant under the perturbation produced by the Earth gravitational potential.

Novel virtual satellite formation scheme for deterministic transmission

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2023
Although satellite formation flying could effectively support deterministic transmission due to its stable formation, but its formation control required significant real-time computational overhead and did not support flexible deployment for multi ...

GaliLEO: A Simulation Tool for LEO Satellite Constellations [PDF]

open access: yesSIMULATION, 2002
The authors present GaliLEO, a simulator for the transmission of connection-oriented traffic over a constellation of LEO/MEO (low/medium earth orbit) satellites. Its scope is limited to the satellites and the stations accessing them, without any modelling of the terrestrial network, but inside this scope the goal is to study the performance of ...

Autonomous Synchronization of Satellite Constellations via Optical Inter-Satellite Links

open access: yes, 2023
In this paper we present an on-board clock steering scheme for achieving tight synchronization of constellations interconnected with optical inter-satellite links.

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Handover Strategies for Emerging LEO, MEO, and HEO Satellite Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access
Satellite networks are expected to support global connectivity via future 3GPP non-terrestrial networks (NTNs), as well as private non-geostationary satellite orbit (NGSO) constellations, e.g. OneWeb, SpaceX, and Amazon’s Kuiper.

Productivity‐Driven Optimization of Laser Powder Bed Fusion Parameters for IN718 Superalloy: Process Control, Microstructure, and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates how optimizing laser power, scanning speed, and hatching distance in laser powder bed fusion can boost the productivity of Inconel 718 manufacturing by up to 29% while maintaining mechanical integrity. The work delivers a validated process window and cost–time analysis, offering industry‐ready guidelines for efficient additive ...

Large Satellite Constellations and Their Potential Impact on VGOS Operations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Large LEO satellite constellations (or so-called Mega-constellations) will significantly change the view of the sky in some radio frequency bands. For VGOS telescopes it is important to understand the potential impact these constellations will have in ...
