Orbit Determination Using Satellite-to-Satellite Tracking Data
Chinese Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2001Satellite-to-Satellite Tracking (SST) data can be used to determine the orbits of spacecraft in two ways. One is combined orbit determination, which combines SST data with ground-based tracking data and exploits the enhanced tracking geometry. The other is the autonomous orbit determination, which uses only SST.

Satellite Data Product Processing
1990After raw satellite data have been processed into their more manageable conditioned form, with Earth location and calibration appended, further processing is needed to generate products. These can generally be grouped into two categories: imagery and numerical products. Both require large computer resources, particularly for global use.

Processing satellite weather data
Proceedings of the December 4-6, 1962, fall joint computer conference on - AFIPS '62 (Fall), 1962Less than 500 radiosonde observations are available for the current twice daily three dimensional weather analysis over the Northern Hemisphere--a coverage far less than is required for short term advices and for input to numerical prediction computations.

Satellite data archives algorithm
[1991] Proceedings. Data Compression Conference, 2002Summary form only given. SOH telemetry data with intelligent compression will achieve ratios from 100:1 to 5000:1 with the data becoming more lossy as the compression ratio increases. An archival system using an intelligent compressor will permit putting large amounts of data on a media such as a laser compact disc and eliminate most of the physical ...

Lossless Satellite Data Compression
2013Satellite sensors produce enormous data volumes, especially hyperspectral sensors that acquire over hundreds of images of narrow-wavelength bands and produce an image cube. Thus, a lot of effort has been made to study moreefficient ways to compress satellite images or image cubes. Compression techniques can be classified into three types: 1.

USING the method outlined in previous papers1–3, I have completed an analysis of an extensive series of observations on satellite 1958 δ2 (ref. 4), and propose to outline an interesting implication of this work prior to the publication of the detailed analysis.

Validation with Satellite Data
2012The previous chapter was focused on validation with airborne data, while the current is specifically assigned to satellite data. This separation was beneficial due to some differences between airborne and satellite data. Although the data processing is substantially the same, there are significant practical differences making satellite detection more ...
