Universal adaptive control of satellite formation flying [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Control, 2005
In this paper, a new universal adaptive control scheme for satellite formation flying is developed. The underlying idea of our design is to combine the domination design and the monotone adaptive gain. This scheme is guaranteed to have the properties of position tracking and full adaptivity against all parameters.

Nanosat Formation Flying Design for SNIPE Mission

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2020
This study designs and analyzes satellite formation flying concepts for the Small scale magNetospheric and Ionospheric Plasma Experiments (SNIPE) mission, that will observe the near-Earth space environment using four nanosats. To meet the requirements to

Intelligent Control of Satellite Formation Flying [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Small satellites flying in formation present a more efficient and affordable way of achieving the same or better performance than a large satellite because of low cost, high density of functionality and a short development cycle. A key technology for achieving mission objectives is the attitude and orbit control system.

Development of Integrated Orbit and Attitude Software-in-the-loop Simulator for Satellite Formation Flying [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2013
An integrated orbit and attitude control algorithm for satellite formation flying was developed, and an integrated orbit and attitude software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulator was also developed to test and verify the integrated control algorithm.

Solar sail formation flying for deep-space remote sensing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we consider how 'near' term solar sails can be used in formation above the ecliptic plane to provide platforms for accurate and continuous remote sensing of the polar regions of the Earth.
