SATELLITE IMAGE CLASSIFICATION OF BUILDING DAMAGES USING AIRBORNE AND SATELLITE IMAGE SAMPLES IN A DEEP LEARNING APPROACH [PDF]
The localization and detailed assessment of damaged buildings after a disastrous event is of utmost importance to guide response operations, recovery tasks or for insurance purposes. Several remote sensing platforms and sensors are currently used for the

Satellite image classification and segmentation using non-additive entropy [PDF]
Here we compare the Boltzmann-Gibbs-Shannon (standard) with the Tsallis entropy on the pattern recognition and segmentation of coloured images obtained by satellites, via "Google Earth".

Model-Based Satellite Image Fusion [PDF]
A method is proposed for pixel-level satellite image fusion derived directly from a model of the imaging sensor. By design, the proposed method is spectrally consistent. It is argued that the proposed method needs regularization, as is the case for any method for this problem. A framework for pixel neighborhood regularization is presented.

Image Augmentation for Satellite Images
This study proposes the use of generative models (GANs) for augmenting the EuroSAT dataset for the Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) Classification task. We used DCGAN and WGAN-GP to generate images for each class in the dataset. We then explored the effect of augmenting the original dataset by about 10% in each case on model performance.

Toward reduction of artifacts in fused images [PDF]
Most fusion satellite image methodologies at pixel-level introduce false spatial details, i.e.artifacts, in the resulting fusedimages. In many cases, these artifacts appears because image fusion methods do not consider the differences in roughness or ...

Abstract: The images captured during haze, murkiness and raw weather has serious degradation in them. Image dehazing of a single image is a problematic affair. While already-in-use systems depend on high-quality images, some Computer Vision applications, such self-driving cars and image restoration, typically use input from data that is of poor quality.
