Phase Engineering of Atomically Precise Nanoclusters (APNCs) of Gold and Beyond
Engineering the structural phase of materials is of paramount importance for both fundamental research and practical applications. In this Review, we summarize the recent progress in controlling the phases of atomically precise nanoclusters (APNCs) of gold, silver and copper, as well as bimetallic systems. The phase‐enabled material properties of APNCs

Generating Unconventional Spin‐Orbit Torques With Patterned Phase Gradients in Tungsten Thin Films
ABSTRACT A key aim in spintronics is to achieve current‐induced magnetization switching via spin‐orbit torques without external magnetic fields. For this, the focus of recent work has been on introducing controlled lateral gradients across ferromagnet/heavy‐metal devices, giving variations in thickness, composition, or interface quality.

Trions as Fundamental Species in Chemically Doped Polymer Semiconductors
This work shows that exciton–charge carrier coupling in doped polymer semiconductors gives rise to multi‐particle states, including trions—quasiparticles consisting of two holes and one electron under p‐doping—and bound exciton‐hole pairs, as identified through spectroscopic and theoretical analysis.

Roof detection on satellite images
2017 25th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2017In digital image classification processes, image pixels are separated according to some features that they have. Satellite images are digital images that are taken by a satellite vehicle through some sensors which perceive the specific wavelength of the light.

Nonparametric Classification of Satellite Images
Proceedings of the 2018 1st International Conference on Mathematics and Statistics, 2018The task of classifying the objects on a satellite image into predefined categories is the topic of the article. The problems arising while designing a practicable classifier are discussed. The general conditions for robustness of a classifier are provided.

Unsupervised deconvolution of satellite images
Proceedings 1998 International Conference on Image Processing. ICIP98 (Cat. No.98CB36269), 2002This paper focuses on hyperparameter estimation of a variational model for image deconvolution. Using the generalized maximum likelihood (GML) estimator, the estimation problem is reduced to the ML estimation in the case of perfectly observed data. A method based on stochastic gradient is then developed for the estimation of both linear and nonlinear ...

Probabilistic Satellite Image Fusion
2009Remote sensing satellite images play an important role in many applications such as environment and agriculture lands monitoring. In such images the scene is usually observed with different modalities, e.g. wavelengths. Image Fusion is an important analysis tool that summarizes the available information in a unique composite image.
